Proper Launch 1st October 2024: Back to blogging! Goal Fest or Goal Drought? Loss of 1.4 points

Updated: Oct 8, 2024

Hello!

Firstly, I haven't been blogging since late August 2024 as I haven't been as focussed on the project as I would like to be. Needless to say, the results have been rubbish as I have broken my own rules a few times etc...

Mindset lesson there is don't start a trading blog without being fully ready to commit and focus on the project lol :)

I am back fresh, with a bit more time now that the summer holidays are done and the kids are back at school.

I will definitely commit to sharing my journey consistently till least December (around Christmas time). The plan is to enter at least 30 manual trades a month so I can trade around 100 games by Christmas and have a proper story to tell. And hopefully a bank left as well! Break even for me will be a wonderful result, and the learning and sharing will be grand as well.

The bank remains at £1K at will keep a maximum liability of 1% so let's see how this goes!

1st October Results:

  • No of manual trades: 3

  • Net position: -1.5 points

Today 1st October, I used my research tool for shortlist games with a circa 75% chance of a second half goal, and backed up by in-play stats by the 55th minute. These were:

  • Cardiff v Millwall (No second half goal - all the in-play stats lined up as below)

Got 0.25 pt profit from the Birmingham v Huddersfield game but another losing trade at Carlisle v Notts Co with no second half goal sealed a pretty lousy night of trading

Today was a sobering welcome back to the reality of football trading with a -1.5pt loss on the day.

You will see on my P&L, loads of tiny 10P bets, this is because I am testing a few automated strategies in the background. I will only start to report on these if they start to show any decent potential. Those who have been trading a while will know how notoriously difficult it is to build fully automated set and forget systems.

Tomorrow 2nd October is a busy family day so will see if I find anything in the evening.
