Saturday 5th October 2024: +1.9 points

Updated: Oct 7, 2024

Hi all

Posting this Sunday as didn't get a chance to write things up . A good day but I feel somewhat lucky day yesterday. I stuck to the late entry approach and lost 2 games in a row. I was 1 point down for the day. (I only use 0.5pt max liability when entering the game late)

I then hit 2 x jackpot trades in a row. These are when I get 2 x quick goals late in the game whilst waiting for the market to settle. It also happens deep in stoppage time whereby hedging out is not possible or not worth it (see one of the trades below)

I also wanted to show you the importance of in-play (IP) stats if one is to have any chance of staying afloat for the long haul. The game below was on my shortlist but have a look at the pathetic IP stats (not single shot on target!).

Unsurprisingly, the game went on to finish with no goals. If you blindly trade fixtures based on pre-game research alone, there is a good chance you will take losses you could have easily avoided

So only 3 trades on a busy Saturday - 1.9 pts banked.

Its a good thing I wasn't on the UK 3 PM kick offs - might have been a blood bath for my strategy.

One more observation: I am starting to really like 0-1 scorelines for late goals :). especially with the home favourite down. There is always a chance they will smash 2 goals in quickly

Current status as at 5th October 2024:

Games traded:17 (From 1st October)

Net: 4 pts
