June 2026 Results: A Reminder That Markets Don't Move in Straight Lines

June proved to be another challenging month for The Dog Pound Framework, finishing **29.60 units down before commission** from 66 qualifying bets. Only three selections were successful during the month, making it one of the weakest strike-rate periods since live tracking began.

Viewed in isolation, June is disappointing. Viewed within the context of the broader research project, it reinforces one of the central principles behind Trade Carefully: meaningful evaluation requires large sample sizes rather than monthly snapshots.

The framework now contains **1,985 live bets** since March 2025. Despite two losing months within the last three, the live implementation remains substantially ahead overall, with several hundred units of accumulated profit before commission. That does not guarantee future performance, but it demonstrates why short-term results rarely tell the complete story.

One of the biggest lessons from this project has been the difference between expectation and reality. High-odds strategies rarely produce smooth equity curves. Extended losing runs, difficult months and periods where confidence is tested are not signs that something is necessarily broken—they are often part of the statistical profile of operating at average odds above 12. Understanding that distinction has become just as important as identifying the original market opportunity.

The broader research project also provides valuable perspective. Between March 2025 and May 2026, more than **42,000 observations** were collected from UK greyhound exchange markets. Blindly following those observations would have produced a substantial long-term loss. The Dog Pound Framework emerged only after analysing more than one hundred candidate variations, with most proving unsustainable when exposed to larger samples. June serves as another reminder that the work never stops. Research does not end once a framework has been identified.

As always, there will be no attempt to hide difficult periods. The purpose of publishing monthly results is to document the journey honestly, including both the strong periods and the challenging ones. Transparency is far more valuable than presenting an unrealistic picture of uninterrupted success.

The framework will continue to be tracked exactly as before, using the same rules and the same disciplined approach. One month does not define a strategy, just as one winning month never proves one. The focus remains on collecting evidence, analysing larger samples and allowing the data—not emotion—to guide future decisions.
